Holy Week at Spirit of Life Church in Apple Valley

Join us for Holy Week, April 2-9, as we commemorate the events of Jesus’ last week and reflect on their meaning in our lives.

 

Palm Sunday, April 2: we will celebrate Jesus’ entry into Jerusalem in our 10:00 am worship service. Children will be invited to wave palms as we sing our Hosannas. Following fellowship time after worship, children will be invited to an Easter egg hunt on the church grounds. 

 

Maundy Thursday, April 6: we will gather at 6 pm for a candle-lit potluck supper in memory of Jesus’ Last Supper.  Please bring food to share as we will pass dishes around family-style.  We will hear and sing of the events of that fateful night. 

Good Friday, April 7: we will gather at 7 pm for a solemn Tenebrae service remembering Jesus’ crucifixion and death.  Tenebrae is a Latin word for darkness, and in darkness will gather as we hear and sing the story of Jesus’ life poured out for us. 

Easter Sunday, April 9: join us at 10 am to joyously celebrate Christ’s resurrection and triumph over the forces of sin and darkness. We emerge from a dark week into the light of hope and new beginnings!
