Spirit of Life Presbyterian Church

MISSION STATEMENT

The Community Service Team was created for the purpose of providing opportunities to serve the needs of the local and gobal community and as a resource to Spirit of Life while engaging in fellowship.

COMMUNITY GARDENS:

There are 12 raised garden plots available for rent to any one in the community; the fee is $35, with $20 refunded at the end of the season if the plot is cleaned up.  Our Scouts help us prep the beds in the spring, and clean the beds in the fall.  Water is available from the faucet by the back door of the church.

We also grow produce on a second garden plot, 20′ X 30′, which is donated to the Rosemount Family Resource Center.  Approximately 500 lbs of produce was donated in the inaugural year of 2011, and approximately 800 lbs of produce was delivered in 2012.

Operation Christmas Child

The Community Service Team looks for volunteers, 13 years of age and older to work in the processing center preparing shoe boxes for transport and shipping.  This is an annual service opportunity.

Holiday Gift Shop

In 2012, Spirit of Life will be collaborating with a coalition of churches and the Eagan Resource Center to provide holiday gifts for low income families in Dakota County.
