Care and Concern

Mission Statement

The Loving Community Ministry Team of Spirit of Life
Presbyterian Church seeks to serve the congregation
with Christian love through personal prayer and concern.

The Loving Community Ministry Team is composed of four subgroups, as follows:

Prayer Chain: From time to time, requests are received for special prayers from individuals by phone, letter or prayer cards submitted at the Sunday service. The Prayer Chain leader will begin the notification to the Prayer Chain members and follow the list to make sure all members are notified as indicated on the written list. Daily prayers will be continued by the members as long as requested. Click here if you would like to request a prayer.

Carelist/Caregivers: A Carelist is published weekly by the Office Administrator and distributed to each caregiver as well as included in the weekly church bulletin. Any congregational members, friends or other persons in need of care or joy celebrations will be listed. Before adding a name to the list, permission of that person to do so should be secured. If you would like to be added to this list, please contact the church office at (952) 423-2212.

Each individual on the Carelist will be contacted by a caregiver at least once during a semi-monthly period. This contact can be by visit, phone or letter/card as appropriate, to extend the love and concern or joy for the individual situation. Caregivers should provide an update as necessary to the church office so that the Carelist remains current.  The Carelist starts over again at the beginning of each month, so a new request must be submitted every month to remain on the Carelist.

The caregiver’s responsibilities are not intended to replace the Pastor’s pastoral care role and the Pastor will be notified at once if pastoral care is needed.

Special Services: Currently, the Board of Deacons provides services to families that are in need of special events, i.e., funerals and memorial services. Please click here for more detailed information.
